Mountain Valley Engagement Session {Grace Idaho Engagement photographer}

Alright, newly engaged couples, I NEED to take your photos!

These two drove from near Salt Lake to Grace Idaho for a super fun and adventerous engagement session. We were going to do sunflowers and then last minute decided to go to the top of the mountain where I knew there were pine trees and some wild flowers.

So how should a couple prepare for an engagement session???

As a photographer based in Southeast Idaho, I’m super stoked to help you and your partner capture some breathtaking engagement photos in the great outdoors. To make sure your adventure engagement session goes off without a hitch, here are some tips to help you prepare for the big day:

Location Scouting

The first step in prepping for an adventure engagement session is to choose a stunning location that reflects your personality as a couple. Southeast Idaho is home to some incredible landscapes, from lush forests to towering mountains, and everything in between. Think about the kind of backdrop you want for your photos and let's work together to find the perfect spot that speaks to your love story.

Wardrobe

When it comes to what to wear for your adventure engagement session, the key is to strike a balance between comfort and style. Since we'll be exploring the great outdoors, choose outfits that you can move around in easily. Opt for earthy tones and complementary colors that will blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. And don't forget to bring some layers, especially if we're shooting in the mountains where the weather can be unpredictable!

Props

If you want to add a personal touch to your photos, consider bringing along some props that hold special meaning to both of you. Whether it's a vintage picnic basket, a cozy blanket, or your favorite furry friend, props can help create a more intimate and personalized atmosphere for your photos.

Time of Day

The best lighting for outdoor photography is usually during the early morning or late afternoon. So, if you want that dreamy, golden hour glow in your engagement photos, be prepared to rise and shine for a sunrise session or catch the magical light as the sun starts to dip below the horizon.

Adventure Attitude

An adventure engagement session is all about embracing the unexpected and being open to new experiences. Whether we're hiking to a hidden waterfall, wandering through a sun-dappled forest, or frolicking in a wildflower meadow, be ready to let your hair down, kick off your shoes, and just enjoy the moment with your partner.

Relax and Have Fun

Last but not least, don't stress too much about being in front of the camera. My job is to capture your love and connection authentically, so just focus on each other and let your natural chemistry shine through. Laugh, whisper sweet nothings, steal a kiss, and simply enjoy this special time together.
I hope these tips get you pumped up and ready for your adventure engagement session! Just remember, this is all about celebrating your love and creating memories that you'll cherish for a lifetime. So get excited, get inspired, and get ready for an unforgettable outdoor experience!
